Details

Survival Frog QuadPro Solar Charger Power Bank is a portable and eco-friendly device designed to keep your devices powered while on outdoor adventures. Overall, it is heavier and much larger than your average power bank. However, the device’s functionality reduces that constant need to charge which is a huge lifesaver.

What is a power bank?

A power bank is a portable device that stores electrical energy and can charge mobile devices on the go. It is especially useful in situations where access to a power outlet is limited, such as during travel, hiking, or camping.

How Survival Frog Is Different

Having to charge your charger is seriously the biggest inconvenience. Have you ever been on a trip and your power bank dies? It’s frustrating—I know! But I am the WORST when it comes to charging my devices. When I’m traveling, it’s worse because I’m on my phone constantly throughout the day. At the beach? You can forget it. My phone is dead by lunch because the brightness is maxed out. The solar power charger gives a sense of security. You always have a charge when available.

Includes

  • Foldable leather case
  • 4 individual panels
  • 2 USB output jacks & wireless charging
  • LED Flashlight

Pros:

Design

The leather exterior is stylish and makes it easy to clean. It features a powerful solar panel that charges the built-in battery using sunlight, making it an excellent choice for camping, hiking, and emergency situations. With multiple output ports, it can charge several devices simultaneously, ensuring you stay connected wherever you are.

Durability

The rugged design adds durability, protecting it from the elements, and the flashlight functionality is an added convenience during outdoor trips. The fasteners included have a nice firm snap so I don’t believe they’ll get loose anytime soon. The clips on the side make it very easy to hang on the side of a backpack or stroller when on the go.

I have not had a problem with overheating either. I’ve used the wireless charger while also charging a device with a cord and did not experience any issues with either device.

Charging

Okay, so it says it’s charging, but does it ACTUALLY charge? I was pleased when it came down to it and I was relying on the charger. When the solar bank is fully charged, it lasts longer than other models. Not having to add it to my list of things to charge daily is nice. It also charges faster than other power banks. It charged my device from 10% in about an hour at the beach.

Cons:

It is slightly bulky compared to other power banks. It weighs just under a pound in total at 15.8 oz. While its size and capabilities do play a role in the weight, it’s not so heavy that it becomes an inconvenience. But, what do you expect? I’d rather have an item that worked rather than some mediocre wannabe. It is also not recommended to charge the power bank, while you’re charging a device, so if it’s not charged and you need to charge your device, you’ll have to wait a while.

In total, it has a 4.3 out of 5-star review.

Overall

This was given to me as a gift. I have used this power bank for 2-years now, and I will not be going back. I bring it with me on every trip. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons, and it’s worth every penny. This is a must-have for any trip or emergency.
